Close to both Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, Almancil has become an attractive place to stay in its own right, with excellent facilities close at hand.

Just to the east of Almancil is a small place named São Lourenço with its beautiful 18th century church, covered inside with ceramic tiles - an outstanding example in the Algarve.

Close by is the São Lourenço Cultural Centre, open to the public, with regular art exhibitions and musical events.

There is a good selection of restaurants offering local specialities and international cuisine. You also find there exclusive interior decorators and furnishing shops, many real estate offices and top food & beverage shops.

Great sporting facilities are available at both Quinta and Vale do Lobo, some of the area's most spectacular golf courses are within easy reach, as are some beautiful beaches.
